NGO PARTNERSHIPS:
Unite to Light
“Donating solar lights to communities in need”
Unite to Light is a non-profit from Santa Barbara which has donated more than 80,000 solar powered lights to villages without electricity in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. After ‘field-testing’ the lights for two years on Aldebaran, we will begin taking solar lights to remote fishing villages along the Green Coconut Run. We are doing a campaign called 100 Lights for every 100 Patrons to crowd-fund the cost of the lights. By becoming a Patron, you support our video series and help bring a solar light to people in need.
Adventure Scientists
“Micro plastic sampling along our route”
Adventure Scientists is a unique non profit that helps turn outdoor enthusiasts into scientific data collectors gathering important information from the remote corners of the globe. We’ve joined them by collecting water samples along our the route of the Green Coconut Run, from California to Panama, and then across the South Pacific, to give scientists a look at a large transect of sampling through their global micro-plastic initiative. Their website is www.AdventureScience.org

Da Kine makes high quality apparel and accessories for surf, snow, kite, and skate. They offered us a kind Pro Deal to try out their gear, including their amazingly durable surf board bags. Our gear takes a serious beating on the deck of Aldebaran so we know this stuff is built to last. Excellent gear with limited lifetime warranty on quite a few products!
Kind Bar gifted us hundreds of granola bars! We shared them with fisherman along the way and everyone loves them. We often have “Grab-a-KindBar and Go” days, especially when the surf is good! They have a cool company culture, really unique and delicious snacks that we just don’t tire of eating. See Kindsnacks.com for their latest. #kindawesome
